Rice with poached eggs sounds like a simple yet spectacular breakfast. It’s even better than a sunny side up egg, I think, and is definitely a perfect way to start one’s day! Haha, I’ve always heard that the traditional Japanese breakfast comes with natto, which is sort of off-putting for many Westerners I think! As an Asian myself though, I actually think it sounds pretty awesome and umami! Fermented foods are always so rich in flavor and delicious – I adore Japanese pickles and Korean kimchi etc. I’ve never tried natto before, but I think I have to, some day! Do you like it personally? :)

Avery, I grew up with natto so it’s nostalgic for me. Like most fermented foods, it has funk. Not a bad thing, in my book.
